Marjorie Ann Miller Weds Lt. James L. Armstrong
AN ANNOUNCEMENT of particular interest is that made by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas H. Miller, of Yorktown, of the marriage of their daughter, Marjorie Ann, and Lt. James L. Armstrong, son of Mrs. James L. Armstrong, Beverly Hills, Cal. The wedding was solemnized April 1 in the Puebla Ortoria of Chapman Park Hotel, Los Angeles. The chapel
was beautifully decorated with tall candelabra and ferns on either side of the altar table and bowls of white flowers. The double-ring ceremony was read by the Rev. Donald L. Mackay, of Hollywood Methodist Church. Miss Patricia Armstrong, sister of the bridegroom, was maid-of-honor, and Lt. Lawrence Knight was the best man.
The bride wore a charming dressmaker suit of pale blue wool jersey. Completing her ensemble were white kid gloves and black patent shoes. She carried a colonial bouquet of multi-colored sweet peas and yellow roses. Her hat was of matching sweet peas with a pale blue veil.
Miss Patricia Armstrong, maid-of-honor wore a pale blue wool suit and matching hat. Her accessories included white kid gloves. black patent shoes and a shoulder corsage of pink
flowers.
Mrs. James L. Armstrong, mother of the bridegroom, was attired in a smart sea green crepe dress with which she wore an American beauty hat. Her flowers were a shoulder corsage of red roses.
Following the ceremony a reception was given at the home of Mrs. Clyde Ford in Los Angeles. The living room was decorated with white roses and the dining table was beautifully appointed with bowls of multi-colored sweet peas and candelabra bearing tall
lighted tapers. The young couple left for a short wedding trip to Santa Barbara, Cal.
The bride was graduated from Yorktown High School after which she attended Indiana University one year. She was graduated from Ball State College in 1942. While at Ball State she was an active member of the Gamma Gamma sorority. The wedding originally was set for April 16, but was changed to April 1 because of army orders transferring Lieutenant Armstrong to Fort Douglas, Utah. Lieutenant and Mrs. Armstrong are now residing in Salt
Lake City, Utah.
