Died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 1990, at his residence in Ponchatoula. He was 67, and a native of Ponchatoula. He was retired from Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office and Ponchatoula Volunteer Fire Department and U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and Korean conflict. Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, 8 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday. Religious services at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by Father Archer, O.P. Burial in Ponchatoula Cemetery.
Survived by wife, Virgil Ozment McWilliams, Ponchatoula; three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Becky) Roberts and Mrs. Anthony (Patti) Berner, both of Ponchatoula, and Mrs. Cathy McWilliams Taylor, Hammond; a son, Joel George McWilliams III, Hammond; a sister, Mrs. Will (Patsy) Billon , River Ridge; a brother, John Bradley McWilliams, Madisonville; and nine grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, Mr. & Mrs. Joel George (Lucille Bradley) McWilliams Sr.
