"Lucius didn't leave Pensacola when Lizzie did, and she went first to Montgomery where many members of Christ Episcopal Church sought refuge. The rector established a new parish there called 'Church of the Holy Comforter', an appropriate name for a group of war refugees. Lucius stayed in Pensacola and in October was imprisoned as a 'political prisoner'. He was paroled in January 1863, but released to go to New Orleans, also a Union held city. In time, Lucius went to England and Lizzie to Alabama, near Columbus, GA, where their son John Abercrombie was born.
