Katie's mother, Jane Elizabeth McArthur, was the daughter of Arthur and Margaret Susannah McArthur, wno came to New Orleans from New York before 1850. Arthur McArthur's father, also named Arthur (b. 1770) married Elisabeth Folger, and the Folger lineage goes up to the beginnings of the Nantucket Colony and Benjamin Franklin's grandparents, Peter Folger and Mary Morrill.
