Martha McIntyre Doell , 88 years old, of Metairie, LA passed away on April 10, 2010.

She was born May 14, 1921 in Homer, LA, the daughter of the late Farris and Bertha McIntyre, and grew up in Bastrop, Louisiana. She was the sister of the late Murray, Gordon, Dorothy and Luther McIntyre. Her beloved husband, Walter George Doell , Jr., predeceased her.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law: Deborah and John Lee Gilbert and Pamela and Peter O'Malley; three grandchildren: Jennifer Renee Gilbert, John Walter Gilbert and his wife Nikki, and Rebecca Diettel O'Malley; brother-in-law: Robert E. Doell and his wife Peg; sister-in-law: Fae McIntyre Pate; nephews: William McIntyre and his wife Brenda, and Patrick Doell and his wife Linda, and niece Susan Doell .

Mrs. Doell was a Federal Employee for many years and worked for General Services Administration, the U.S. Customs Service and the Corps of Engineers in property management and logistics management. She served as President of the Wesleyan Guild for St. Matthew's United Methodist Church and was a member of the Greater New Orleans Bonsai Society and Pilot International Organization.

Funeral Services will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home at 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Metairie, Louisiana on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie following the service.
