Sgt. David R. Jackson, 22. of 459 Patron court, Delhi Hills, was killed in action in Phuoc Long Province in Vietnam.
Jackson was a door gunner on a UH-1H helicopter gunship and was reported missing in action by the
U.S. Army November 7. The gunship in which he was riding was shot down by enemy gunfire but witnesses said he had jumped before the crash.
He leaves his wife, Mary Ann, a nurse at St. Francis Hospital, and a son, Bryan. He is the son of Russell and Ann Jackson, 332 State avenue, Cieves.
Sgt. Jackson graduated from 'l'ayloi High School in 1965 and attended a Technology Institute in Indianapolis for two years.

Cleves Soldier Killed in Vietnam
Sgt. David R. Jackson, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Jackson. 332 E. State Ave., Cleves, Ohio, Thursday was reported dead in Vietnam by the Defense Department.
Sgt. Jackson had been missing since November 7, when a helicopter in which he was riding was hit by
enemy fire and crashed. Jackson was a door gunner on the helicopter.
He was stationed with the United States Army Infantry First Cavalry Division, Phouc Long Province,
Vietnam.
He also is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Ann Jackson; a son, Bryant, 1½ months old;: a sister, Nancy; two brothers Ted and Bobby.
Sgt. Jackson was a 1965 graduate of Taylor High School, Cleves. He attended the Indianapolis Institute of Technology and worked as a jet engine mechanic at General Electric here before entering service. He would have been in Vietnam one year in February. .
The Argo Funeral Home, Cleves, will handle arrangements.
