CRESCENT CITY CALM
A Slight Increase in New Cases and Deaths Causes No Alarm
New Orleans, La., Nov 11. - There is nothing to report in the yellow fever situation to-day except a slight increase in the new cases and deaths. The record, however, is regarded with little concern, It follows:,
New Cases\emdash .Miss R. Roth, Alfred Wickbold, Peter Plzzo, Rosa Davis. \emdash Leroy, Miss Cora Crazovant, Miss Millie Pfeffer, P. A, Winnes, Rosa Davey, Josephine Manguno, Emma Perry and M. J. Johnson.
Deaths\emdash Maria, Guisiana, Mrs. Anna Peterson, Tallie Fare, L. A. Bourdette, Carl Ritter and X. A. Price. The board of health report: Cases of yellow fever to-day, 11; deaths to-day, 6; total cases to date, 1,883; total deaths, 257; recovered. 1.017; under treatment. 449.
The board of health to-night, by resolution, abolished all quarantine of whatsoever nature, both territorial and house, within the confines of its jurisdiction. This does away with all guards in the city and throws New Orleans open to the world. The board. by the same resolution, abides by the system of disinfection of infected houses and all personal eifects from known affected localities.
A telegram from Dr. Swearingen, Texas health officer, to Dr. Olliphant, indicates that Dr. Swearingen cannot go to Washington for the meeting of the national health committee, because Texas expects to raise her quarantine on Nov. 15.
