Alexander D Long was my great great grandfather, according to the records that I have found. His gravestone is shaled and partly unreadable. His birth year is approximate - about 1800 in North Carolina .... He married Mary (Browden) and they had a family of eight children, although two are unknown to us. As far as I know after his death, his widow Mary traveled to Iowa with their children and settled in Lucas County. Mary Catherine (Long) Noble's obituary gives this information; she was the last surviving member of this family. Alexander's middle name may be Dolphus, which is the middle name of his oldest son, James. The cemetery where he is buried is in Driftwood township, Jackson County, Indiana - where the youngest of his children were born.
