He was the son of George Lieurance and Priscilla Noble. He had 14 brothers and sisters. His first wife was Susan and second was Minnie.

George W. Lieurance, was a Civil War Vet. Enlisted as a private in the 3rd Wisconsin Infantry, Co. H on Feb. 27, 1864. Promoted to Full Corporal. Mustered out on July 18, 1865 at Madison, WI. His residence was Willow Springs, Wisconsin when he enlisted.
