Lucy Lesesne Schwab, age 102, died peacefully at Poydras Home on September 23, 2015. She was born on January 7, 1913, in Mobile, Alabama, to Henry Deas Lesesne and Lucille Barclay Lesesne.

Beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, Lucy grew up in Mobile, but spent most of her married life in New Orleans. She attended Trinity Episcopal Church, where she was an active member and tireless volunteer for over five decades. She was a former member of the Junior League of New Orleans. Her family and friends will dearly miss her, and the joy and caring she brought into their lives. She had an extraordinary gift for making everyone she encountered feel valued.

Lucy was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, John White Schwab, her daughter, Carolyn Schwab McCabe, and her son-in-law, Nicholas McCabe. She is survived by her daughter, Lucy Schwab Selman and her husband, Francis (Sonny), of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and her son, John White Schwab, Jr., and his wife, Donna, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; eight grandsons, Morell Crane, Jr. and wife, Sharon, David Crane and wife, Kristy, Kevin McCabe, all of New Orleans, John Crane and wife, Courtney, of Studio City, California, Peter Selman and wife, Margaret Ann, of Montgomery, Alabama, Ryan Schwab and wife, Jen, David Schwab and Brannon Schwab, all of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by her three granddaughters, Carolyn Williams and her husband, Phil, of Santa Ana, California, Laura Donnelly and her husband, Michael, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Anna Schwab of Baton Rouge; twelve great-grandchildren, Spencer Crane, Allie Crane, Jourdan Crane, Liam Crane, Jack Crane, Cally Crane, Shane Donnelly, Mary Rose Donnelly, Jack Selman, Molly Selman, Quinn Schwab, and Piper Schwab.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Trinity Episcopal Church. Friends may visit between 1:00 P.M. and 2:00 P.M.; the service will begin at 2:00 P.M. The family offers special thanks to her loving and loyal caregivers at Poydras Home and Christian Hospice, who brought her joy and comfort in her final years.
